1. Appliqué Workshop for Women
Through Uttorone's tailoring initiative in Shantiniketan, women from underprivileged backgrounds are being introduced to the traditional craft of fabric appliqué. The free workshop is designed not simply to teach a skill, but to create a pathway towards confidence, creativity and the possibility of earning a sustainable livelihood.
2. Awareness Against Plastic Use
Small changes can make a lasting difference. Uttorone has distributed more than 300 reusable cloth bags to encourage people to move away from single-use plastic and adopt more environmentally responsible everyday habits.
3. Free Education and Nutrition Programme
Education becomes more meaningful when children have the support they need to learn well. At Kendradangal, Uttorone has started free coaching for school-going children, alongside a nutrition programme providing them with nutritious food. The initiative brings together learning and nourishment—two basic foundations of a child's growth.
4. Tree Plantation and Afforestation
The future of a community is also tied to the health of its environment. Tree plantation initiatives in Bolpur are helping create greater awareness of the importance of trees, while encouraging the community to take part in protecting and restoring its natural surroundings.
5. Educational Support for a Meritorious Student
Sometimes, a little support at the right moment can change the course of a young person's life. Uttorone is supporting a meritorious girl by helping facilitate her admission to an English-medium school, enabling her to pursue her education with greater opportunity and confidence.
6. Support During the Monsoon
For families living in vulnerable homes, the monsoon can turn a simple rain into a serious hardship. Uttorone has been providing tarpaulins to villagers whose homes are affected by rainwater and waterlogging, offering a practical and immediate layer of protection when it is needed most.
7. Raincoat Distribution
A raincoat may seem like a small gesture, but for a child walking to school during the monsoon, it can mean comfort, protection and the ability to continue attending school despite the weather. Uttorone distributed 150 raincoats among the students, teachers and staff of Antaranga School.
8. Daily Nutrition Programme at Antaranga School
At Antaranga, education goes hand in hand with care. Students are provided nutritious daily meals, including khichdi, vegetables and eggs, helping ensure that children have the nourishment they need to learn, play and grow.
9. Encouraging Creative and Co-curricular Activities
A child's education is not complete without the freedom to express, imagine and participate. Through storytelling, singing, recitation and other creative activities, Antaranga encourages children to find their voice, build confidence and discover the joy of learning beyond textbooks.
10. Karate, Yoga, Computer, Storytelling and Library Classes
At Antaranga, children are encouraged to develop in more ways than one. Computer education, Karate, Yoga, storytelling and library classes provide opportunities to build practical skills, physical fitness, discipline, curiosity and confidence—helping children prepare for a wider world beyond the classroom.
11. Tailoring Classes
Uttorone's tailoring programme is creating opportunities for women to learn a practical skill in a supportive environment. Two classes are conducted three times a week, using seven updated sewing machines, with more than 40 students enrolled. The women have also made school uniforms for 150 students of Antaranga School, turning their learning into something tangible and meaningful for their own community.
12. Library at Antaranga
A library is more than a collection of books—it is an invitation to explore, imagine and ask questions. Uttorone's library initiative at Antaranga seeks to nurture a habit of reading and give children access to a world of stories and knowledge beyond their everyday surroundings.

Digital literacy is increasingly a part of everyday life and future opportunity. Computer education at Antaranga aims to give children an early familiarity with technology and help bridge the gap between their classroom and the rapidly changing world around them.
